With less then two weeks before the start of another school year, HomeZilla is still seeing an increase in the number of people heavily researching schools.

Schools are almost always the most searched amenities when people are researching a neighbourhood. The exception being some neighbourhoods in Toronto and Vancouver where people are looking for grocery stores and public transit. But this year the trend is stronger than ever before…

Here is a list of the 10 most researched types of schools by city *:

  1. High schools in Calgary, Alberta
  2. Elementary schools in Calgary, Alberta
  3. High schools in Vancouver, BC
  4. Jr High schools in Halifax, Nova Scotia
  5. High schools in Kelowna, BC
  6. High schools in Toronto, Ontario
  7. Elementary schools in Toronto, Ontario
  8. Jr High schools in Toronto, Ontario
  9. High schools in Ottawa, Ontario
  10. High schools in London, Ontario

The most surprising trend I see is that High Schools have six of the ten top searches. Everywhere we go it seems there are lots of small kids and babies…so we expected a lot more research on Elementary Schools. But the numbers don’t lie…
