Financial Post on HomeZilla… well at least the name…
A Financial Post article by Kevin Baker talking about HomeZilla made much of his dislike for the company name.
But the article give no hint about why he is so fixated on the name website and not the website itself.
What does Kevin Baker think of HomeZilla? We won’t know until he actually goes and uses the website. Too bad Mr Baker! You should have actually tried the website before writing about it.
PS: The one question I did see in the article was the origin of our name.
The origin of HomeZilla came out of brainstorming sessions in the very early days of the business. In one of the first meetings a comment was made about the ‘monster opportunity’ we were researching. The ‘monster’ idea kept going…in following meetings we talked about the ‘monster amount of information we would have to gather’. As the business focus narrowed the wording changed to ‘collecting monster amounts of information for home buyers’. As we thought about the monsterous task of collecting data to help home buyers one name jumped out at me…. HomeZilla! That is the story of HomeZilla’s name…
