Chris Anderson, the author of ‘The Long Tail’, has just published a new article in Wired Magazine about “Why $0.00 is the future of business“. This is a great article and I would highly recommend it, as well as his previous book.

So, does this mean I think real estate will become free? Certainly not. Unless you are in an area of the country trying to attract new residents. Take, for example, New Brunswick’s plan to increase their population by 100,000 people by 2026. Maybe they could offer people a free house if they used their money to setup a new business. The business would be a better investment for the economy and more businesses make it easier to attract other residents. This could be a great step towards starting the influx of people moving to NB.

Yes, I know most people won’t agree with this thinking but when you have an agressive target, like a large population increase in New Brunswick, tapping into the ‘Free Future’ idea might be a good move.
